I am Charlotte Cottrell the Admissions Registrar and I am delighted you are considering our school for your child. I am here to answer all the questions you have about the school, arrange your visits and child’s taster days. I will be with you every step of the admissions process to ensure it is smooth and stress free.

We are a non-selective school and we celebrate our diverse community. We welcome children of all abilities, nationalities and religions. It is this varied community that brings Highfield and Brookham its vibrancy.

Highfield and Brookham offers the breadth of education, the exceptional pastoral care and enviable facilities that many Prep schools in the area offer. But what makes us truly distinct is we are a genuinely independent school. We have been privately owned by The Mills Family for over 100 years. We are not answerable to a trust or a senior school which means we have a strong feeling of togetherness. We work together with you to ensure your child receives the very best education possible.

We regularly feed 30 senior schools which means your child’s educational journey is unique to them. Mrs Cryer has strong contacts with all of the senior schools and is exceptional at knowing every child. She will play a crucial part in finding the right future school for your child.

I know first-hand the quality of education that Highfield and Brookham provides. I am a proud parent of two Old Highfieldians. Still today, after all the years, they look back fondly and thank Highfield and Brookham for where they are today.

I encourage you to explore our website and social media for a full flavour of the extraordinary opportunities your child will be given at Highfield and Brookham. And don’t stop there, come and visit us and see the excitement for yourselves.

I look forward to welcoming you to our school community.

We welcomed Barrow Hills School today for the first round of the IAPS Cricket Tournament. With some strong batting, bowling and fielding performances from our team, we proved too strong for Barrow Hills today. Bring on Round 2!

Last night the Epicurious Society held its final supper of the year. Theo and Honor presided over affairs and welcomed speaker Malcolm Borwick to talk about his experiences of playing polo and the challenges of being a professional sportsman. Malcolm encouraged Year 8 to set goals, deal with disappointment, be prepared for change but to always set the bar high. Our catering team provided a wonderful supper and fellowship was enjoyed by all. #TogetherWeGrow #IndependentSchool #PrivateSchool #BoardingSchool #PrepSchool #PrePrepSchool #Nursery #Liphook #Hampshire #Surrey #WestSussex #supperclub

Out on the rafts was a favourite activity for our Year 4 at Kingswood on the Isle of Wight this week. With laughter in the air and excitement all around they navigated the water and conquered their fears.

Year 4 are flying high on their residential trip at Kingswood on the Isle of Wight this week. Showing courage, determination and spirit the children are growing in character and confidence every day.

Year 4 fearlessly donned blindfolds and navigated a sensory trail on their residential trip to @kingswoodcentres, relying on touch, sound intuition and the help of each other. With each determined step, these young adventurers showed great courage and resilience.

Courage and enthusiasm abound as year conquer their fears (did they have any?!) and jump into the chilly sea on their residential trip to @kingswoodcentres on the Isle of Wight. Moments like these not only create lasting memories but teach the children invaluable lessons about tackling challenges head on and pushing beyond their comfort zone. #TogetherWeGrow #IndependentSchool #PrivateSchool #BoardingSchool #PrepSchool #PrePrepSchool #Nursery #Liphook #Hampshire #Surrey #WestSussex #Year4 #schooltrip

Waiting to bat is a game within the game. It’s a test of patience and nerves. A time for supporting teammates and a reminder that cricket is as much about the team as it is about individual performances. #TogetherWeGrow #IndependentSchool #PrivateSchool #BoardingSchool #PrepSchool #PrePrepSchool #Nursery #Liphook #Hampshire #Surrey #WestSussex #cricket #sport #batting

Six budding thespians from Year 7 recently took centre stage at a Drama Festival at Sherborne School. Guided by the Associate Director of the National Youth Theatre and the Director of Pins and Needles Productions they delved into the theme of ‘Joy’ with passion and creativity. From thrilling improvisation and devising to imaginative puppet making, our young actors excelled as they explored the world of theatre.

Our Year 4 adventurers have arrived on the Isle of Wight and they’re wasting no time diving headfirst into a whirlwind of activities. They have an exciting few days ahead filled with adventure and challenge which we know they will tackle with their usual enthusiasm.

Nursery children were thrilled to help pitch the bell tent in their garden today and soon discovered it was the perfect place to relax and enjoy a good book. #TogetherWeGrow #IndependentSchool #PrivateSchool #BoardingSchool #PrepSchool #PrePrepSchool #Nursery #Liphook #Hampshire #Surrey #WestSussex #readingtime

Year 1 enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at forest school. Painting sticks, making apple prints, climbing trees, hunting for mini beasts and spending time with their friends filled their afternoon with outdoor fun and learning. We never overlook the importance of wellbeing in education and the fresh air and sunshine definitely boosted the children’s creativity and well-being.

House spirit was electric as our determined swimmers took their positions for the annual House Swimming Gala. The nervous excitement waiting for the sound of the starting whistle was palpable. 🥇Trafalgar 🥈Agincourt 🥉Waterloo #TogetherWeGrow #IndependentSchool #PrivateSchool #BoardingSchool #PrepSchool #PrePrepSchool #Nursery #Liphook #Hampshire #Surrey #WestSussex #SwimmingGala #HouseCompetition

On Saturday, we celebrated our annual Model Exhibition House Competition. The Atrium was transformed into a haven for aircraft, ships, and vehicles, with Warhammer making its debut much to Year 6’s excitement. Our house competitions are always fiercely competitive, and with each house receiving 15 points each, it came down to the overall winner…which for the second time running was Alex, and so Waterloo were crowned house champions with Agincourt and Trafalgar in joint second place. Congratulations to all participants and special thanks to our guest judge, Lt. Cdr. Elliott Brown for his insightful judging.

Classic show tune Edelweiss, from Rodgers and Hammerstein’s hit 1959 musical The Sound of Music, was one of the beautiful songs being practised today by our harmonious junior choir ahead of their upcoming spring concert. Our green-fingered prep school children are beginning to see the fruit of their enrichment lesson labours. Their broad beans are coming along nicely, with potatoes, onions, asparagus and lavender not far behind. Once harvested, the vegetables will be used in school meals. #TogetherWeGrow #IndependentSchool #PrivateSchool #BoardingSchool #PrepSchool #PrePrepSchool #Nursery #Liphook #Hampshire #Surrey #WestSussex #SummerTerm #VegetablePatch #Gardening

To mark EarthDay.org, our pre-prep and prep school children have been considering the harm plastic pollution causes to nature and the impact fashion has on the environment. The children looked at the life cycle of plastic water bottles, including the raw materials used in the manufacturing process and how they are made, packaged and distributed, and what happens to them once they have been used. Our young eco warriors also dug deep to discover how many dyeing and finishing processes involved in producing the clothes we wear rely on toxic chemicals that not only harm workers but leach out into rivers and ground water systems; degrading the land, compromising drinking water and killing fish. The children were then tasked with designing T-shirts to raise awareness of the importance of being environmentally friendly. #TogetherWeGrow #IndependentSchool #PrivateSchool #BoardingSchool #PrepSchool #PrePrepSchool #Nursery #Liphook #Hampshire #Surrey #WestSussex #SummerTerm
