Welcome to Highfield and Brookham, an independent co-educational day and boarding school for children aged 2-13. We’re located in 175 acres of stunning grounds within the South Downs National Park in Liphook. We welcome families from across Hampshire, West Sussex and Surrey as well as further afield nationally and internationally.

I am Charlotte Cottrell the Admissions Registrar and I am delighted you are considering our school for your child. I am here to answer all the questions you have about the school, arrange your visits and child’s taster days. I will be with you every step of the admissions process to ensure it is smooth and stress free.
We are a non-selective school and we celebrate our diverse community. We welcome children of all abilities, nationalities and religions. It is this varied community that brings Highfield and Brookham its vibrancy.
Highfield and Brookham offers the breadth of education, the exceptional pastoral care and enviable facilities that many Prep schools in the area offer. But what makes us truly distinct is we are a genuinely independent school. We have been privately owned by The Mills Family for over 100 years. We are not answerable to a trust or a senior school which means we have a strong feeling of togetherness. We work together with you to ensure your child receives the very best education possible.
We regularly feed 30 senior schools which means your child’s educational journey is unique to them. Mrs Cryer has strong contacts with all of the senior schools and is exceptional at knowing every child. She will play a crucial part in finding the right future school for your child.
I know first-hand the quality of education that Highfield and Brookham provides. I am a proud parent of two Old Highfieldians. Still today, after all the years, they look back fondly and thank Highfield and Brookham for where they are today.

Whether they are in the classroom, the science lab, the music room, the DT block or on the sports pitches, our children are always learning – and that includes being outside in the playground. Our Pre-Prep children are blessed with a brilliant combination of green space and benefit-laden play equipment right outside their classrooms that they make full use of all year round, come rain or shine. There they can develop their gross motor skills and improve their balance, coordination and spatial awareness as they climb, swing, run and jump to their heart’s content, work on their teamwork, leadership and problem-solving skills to negotiate tricky obstacles, and interact with their peers, brush up on their social skills and form new friendships. Whisper it quietly but it looks like spring has finally sprung. The longer days, rising temperatures and welcome sunshine have sparked a growing frenzy; the colourful daffodils are standing proud, the trees are in bud and the beds are shaping up beautifully. What an amazingly busy, inspirational and uplifting spring term we have had. The final Cushion Concert of the spring term featured a range of wonderful performances, including solo and duet vocals, piano and guitar solos and some highly entertaining LAMDA performances. What an amazing week we’ve had on the theatrical stage. Our Year 5 and Year 6 children have excelled themselves with no less than six extraordinary performances of Pride Rocks. Under the direction of Mrs Baird, our exceptional Head of Drama, the children recited their lines, danced and sang with immense pride, passion and expertise, supporting each other every step of the way as the powerful tale unfolded. The girls’ football season continued apace today with the visit of our friends from St. Edmund’s School, Surrey. Our U13, U12, U11 and U10 girls were in fine form under mercifully sunny skies, demonstrating just how much they have improved in the past month. Year 7 have taken inspiration from the work of JMW Turner, who was best known for his expressive colouring and imaginative landscapes. Experimental artists in Year 3 have been busy mixing primary colours in the art room today to produce secondary colours.
